Marlins Players Will Be Allowed to Have Facial Hair

Well, it looks like Derek Jeter and the new Marlins regime isn’t cutting everything.

After major slashes to the mascot department over the past two weeks, Jetes revealed his ballplayers will at least be able to have some scruff on their faces — as long as its well maintained. The details from the Sun-Sentinel:

“You want people to look professional,” Jeter said. “I think if you look professional, you act professional.

“I know with the Yankees, obviously, we weren’t allowed to have any facial hair with the exception of a mustache, which never worked for me, but I think you do want players — they’re individuals, they have their personalities, you want them to be able to represent themselves and their families and the organization, but you want them to do that in a professional manner.”

Suffice it to say that this is the first win for Marlins players this offseason.
