Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders has really made a name for himself this season.

After being in the Heisman Trophy conversation during the first month of the year and excelling on the field for the Buffaloes with his impressive accuracy, Sanders has been soaring up NFL Draft boards.

But who does Coach Prime’s son model his game after or compare himself to?

In a recent interview with Complex, Shedeur made a bold claim by comparing himself to two legendary NFL quarterbacks. According to Sanders, he is a mixture of Michael Vick and Tom Brady.

“Well, I’ll say it’s a mixture because I’m able to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball. I can play like Brady, but I’m also able to extend plays and if it’s not there, take it like Vick,” Sanders said. “So it just depends, it’s funny whenever situations in the game occur, they’re like ‘hey, you gotta be Vick tonight. You gotta be Mike Vick tonight.’ So then that’s when we bring our legs involved.

“But I say it’s a mixture of a lot of great quarterbacks that all just have a different skill set. So that’s why I feel like I’m special in what I bring to the table. I wanna stay in the pocket, I wanna throw it like Tom, but sometimes those opportunities ain’t there.”

Talk about a bold statement.

Sanders does have experience running for his life thanks to the putrid offensive line play from Colorado, and he has impressed with his accuracy, but we will need to pump the brakes a bit on the Tom Brady comparisons.

But, for what it’s worth, Shedeur does have experience training with the GOAT.

We’ll have to see how that skillset translates to the next level.

Currently, Sanders is projected by many as a potential first-round pick.
