Week 7 of the NFL season ended with the Minnesota Vikings pulling off the upset over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
While the Vikings’ performance was undoubtedly one of the biggest stories of the week, there were also plenty of other stories that developed over the weekend.
Here are the five biggest headlines from Week 7.
5. Brownies Riding The Lightning

The Cleveland Browns have left a lot to be desired on the offensive side of the ball. However, the defense is arguably the best in the entire league.
Led by a monster performance by Myles Garrett, the Browns defense did just enough to give the team a 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Is it a sustainable way of winning? Who really knows? But for now, the Brownies will take all the help they can get as Deshaun ‘Guaranteed Money’ Watson has yet to be the quarterback anyone was hoping for in Cleveland.

It was inevitable that the New England Patriots would take a step back after the greatest quarterback of all time decided to leave the organization, and head coach Bill Belichick has been dealing with a challenging situation in his attempt to rebuild another dynasty.
However, many have been ready to write the obituary on Bill’s time in New England. But on Sunday, the Patriots made a statement that they aren’t prepared to go gentle into the night.
The Pats pulled the massive upset over the Buffalo Bills behind a brilliant game-winning drive from Mac Jones.
Maybe, just maybe, there’s still some magic left for those Patriots.

— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) October 22, 2023
The Baltimore Ravens derailed the biggest hype train of the season when they devoured the Detroit Lions 38-6. Behind one of Lamar Jackson’s best performances of his career, the Ravens annihilated the team with the best record in the league.
Jackson finished the game with 357 yards passing while finding the endzone through the air on three separate occasions. Oh yeah, the Ravens quarterback also found paydirt on his feet with an easy rushing touchdown.
If the Ravens play this way for the rest of the season, the league may need to go ahead and crown them.
2. The Vikings Are Going Higher

— Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) October 24, 2023
Maybe it was the Creed played during the pre-game, or perhaps it was the outstanding play from wide receiver Jordan Addison. Whatever the case may be, the Minnesota Vikings showed the world that the Detroit Lions aren’t going to just run away with the NFC North title.
The Vikings got off to an ugly start to this season but have now won three of their last four.
On the flip side, the 49ers have dropped their second straight game, and it seems like quarterback Brock Purdy has been unable to carry the weight of a team that relies on their banged-up defense to get them to the finish line.
1. Tush-Pushing To The Top

— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) October 23, 2023
If I never see the words tush, push, or ‘Brotherly Shove’ ever again, my life will be better for it. The Philadelphia Eagles have 31 other fanbases extremely jealous that their quarterback sneak works better than it does on EA Sports College Football 14.
The Eagles responded like good teams do after the first loss last week by haunting the high-powered Miami Dolphins offense in a 31-17 performance on Sunday night.
The victory has all but put the Eagles back on top of the NFL power rankings, as well as reminding everyone that the word tush needs to be erased from the English vocabulary.
