LeBron James continues to earn accolades to his already GOAT worthy career. The Los Angeles Lakers star joined rarified air last night, joining only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the second member of the 38,000 career points club. LeBron’s 35-point effort wasn’t enough for the Lakers to get the win over the Sixers, but enough to continue his quest for greatness.
LeBron James is the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 career points.

Barring unfortunate events, James will surpass Kareem before the end of this season. James trails the Lakers legend by just 363 points. James’s list of accolades is longer than a CVS receipt, and that list will continue to grow as The King continues to defy the odds of a 38-year-old NBA player.
Anyone on James’s level of greatness has his deniers. The great debate of MJ or James needs to dissolve. Appreciating these athletes while their here is more important than an argument over who is better. James’s numbers are staggering for his season campaign. He is averaging 29.2 pts. 8.4 reb., and 6.9 ast.
The Lakers are on the outside looking in for a playoff push this season. The quest for a playoff appearance and grabbing the all-time scoring record will be enough to tune in and watch a Lakers team that still hasn’t found its identity.
