Internet issues at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland have led to the loss of A LOT of revenue on Saturday.
With the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Northwestern Wildcats in town for Week 0 of the college football season, the opportunity was there for plenty of cash to be made on the beer-drinking, Midwestern fans who were in attendance to see their college football teams — and those from Ireland who just wanted to drink beer and watch sports.
Unfortunately, the internet was down.
And because the internet was down, the cashiers were unable to accept payments so all concessions — food and drinks — were free.
That led to some incredibly long lines to take advantage of the free brews. I mean, how could you not?

And it only got worse at halftime.
With people scooping up all of the free grub, concession booths were running out of food. The good news is that the beer kept on flowing.

While most of the food is gone, the beer is still flowing at halftime. Still free because the internet remains out and the cashiers can’t take payments. pic.twitter.com/5W0bmnTP3G

It was an unfortunate situation for the event organizers and those who were projecting their profits, but it was great for everyone in attendance.
College football is back, baby!
