The Urban Meyer experience didn’t even last a year, with the Jacksonville Jaguars firing the first-year coach in the wee hours of the morning.
Derrell Bevell will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
“After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone,” Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement.
“I informed Urban of the change this evening. As I stated in October, regaining our trust and respect was essential. Regrettably, it did not happen.”

Meyer’s firing comes after countless reports of disarray within the organization, including players questioning his coaching decisions and frustration with how he is behaving behind closed doors.
On Wednesday, former kicker Josh Lambo came forward to say that Meyer got physical with him by kicking him during warmups.
The Jaguars are currently sitting at 2-11 after being shut out by the Titans last week for their fifth straight loss.
