The NBA was rocked by some major injuries over the weekend. LeBron James will be out indefinitely after suffering a high right ankle sprain, while Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball is expected to miss the rest of the season with a fractured bone in his right wrist.

LeBron was the leading candidate in the MVP race, but he now falls behind Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic in the race.

LaMelo Ball, meanwhile, was the odds-on favorite to win Rookie of the Year, but he now moves behind Minnesota Timberwolves standout Anthony Edwards.

Ball is expected to get a second opinion on his injured wrist.
