It was a move that we all saw coming, and over the weekend it became a reality: Cam Newton is now a member of the New England Patriots. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback and NFL MVP will now have the opportunity to replace Tom Brady in Foxborough.
To win the starting job, Newton will have to edge out another former Auburn signal-caller, 2019 fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham,
As long as Cam is healthy, that shouldn’t be an issue.
Newton signed with the Patriots on an incentive-laden, one-year deal worth $7.5 million.
