The Rio Olympics really doesn’t need more bad press after a week of water controversy and athletes getting sick. But things got worse Monday afternoon when an overhead camera at Olympic Park fell onto bystanders below it.

The AP’s Jon Krawczynski says the camera took a fall of around 40 feet:

Scary moment here at Olympic Park where a large camera overlooking it fell down maybe 40 feet and hit two women.

Eurosport spoke to a witness who saw the whole thing unfold:

“I was looking to the camera … and suddenly I heard a big snap on the cable and the camera came down,” said visitor Chris Adams, a member of the British gymnastics delegation, who was taking pictures inside the park at the time.
