If you told Kansas football walk-on Jared Casey that he would become a Jayhawk football legend before the season, he wouldn’t have believed you. However, Casey’s name will forever be remembered after catching a two-point conversion to defeat Texas. Now Casey is cashing in on a fancy new NIL deal with Applebee’s.

This commercial is a prime example of how awesome the NIL is for college athletes. Casey would have never had a chance to capitalize on this moment had the NIL not been passed this year. It’s refreshing to see the NCAA actually doing something to benefit its athletes. Kudos to Applebee’s for creating the perfect opportunity for a young man that will never forget this moment.
Here are the parents of Jared Casey, the Kansas walk-on, watching their son catch the game-winning 2-pt conversion vs Texas. Doesn’t get any better than this.

The Jayhawks held a huge lead early in the game before Texas stormed back and created a classic Big 12 shootout that resulted in a 57-56 Kansas win. Kansas will look to build on the momentum of their victory last week when they take on a struggling TCU team.
