Cam Newton will once again be looking for a new opportunity.
On Tuesday, the New England Patriots announced the surprising news that the veteran quarterback has been released from the team as they make their way down to the 53-man roster. With Newton’s release, the team has officially been handed to first-round pick mac Jones.
Jones threw for 389 yards and a touchdown in the preseason, while Newton recorded 162 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Predictably, Twitter had some thoughts.
