We all know that Kliff Kingsbury lives like a baller. After all, his viral NFL Draft photo and the view of his interview set social media on fire.

So when the USC senior offensive analyst and former Arizona Cardinals head coach was approached by the Chicago Bears for the head coaching vacancy, it should come as no surprise that he was once again back to his “baller” ways.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this past week, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network revealed an interesting nugget of how Kingsbury reportedly handled the situation.

Rapoport said Kingsbury’s approach was “if you want me, come and get me.”

He told McAfee, “I love every part of them interviewing Kliff Kingsbury. First of all, he made them fly out to L.A., which is such a baller move. Like, ‘You wanna talk to me, come on. I’ll be here if you’ll be here. Then we’ll talk.'”

What a guy.

Kingsbury may have struggled as an NFL head coach, but there is no denying his talents as an offensive mind. Throughout his time in the college ranks, Kingsbury was offensive coordinator during Johnny Manziel’s Heisman campaign and then moved to Texas Tech where he worked with Patrick Mahomes.

At USC, Kingsbury worked with another one of college football’s top quarterbacks, which is why the interview with the Bears gets interesting.

The Bears hold the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and Kingsbury worked with the No. 1 quarterback prospect Caleb Williams at USC. If the team decides to draft Williams and wants a smooth transition to the NFL, Kingsbury would be a valuable asset as offensive coordinator.

Of course, if they decide to look elsewhere to fill the void on Matt Eberflus’ staff, Kingsbury could still provide more information on Williams as a player and a person on and off of the field.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Bears, Kingsbury, and the No. 1 pick over the next few months.

The 2024 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 25 around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan. The draft will run through Saturday, April 27.
