The College Football Playoff National Championship Game is set, with the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies set to face off in Houston on Monday, January 8.
It’s an exciting matchup between two teams with contrasting styles, but fans are requesting one major change.
While it’s logistically impossible to move the national championship game to a different location, fans are drawing on nostalgia and wishing for one final Big Ten vs. Pac-12 showdown at the Rose Bowl before the end of the Pac-12.
Michigan-Washington is the title game matchup I wanted, because of the extreme contrast of styles. It’s a fun game to ponder & anticipate for a week.
But, like, with this being one last traditional Big Ten-Pac-12 showdown, can we move it from Houston to the Rose Bowl? Please.

Can we just move Washington vs. Michigan to the Rose Bowl? Let’s end the conference with an old school bowl matchup at the Granddaddy.

Michigan and Washington should be playing for the championship in the Rose Bowl instead of some ugly dome

A Michigan-Washington title game a) should be played in the Rose Bowl b) makes me wish we could have a world in which the title game could always be played at the geographically logical location on a week’s notice.
Impossible, I know. But how cool would it be?

Washington and Michigan previously met four times at the Rose Bowl, with a 1991 meeting giving the Huskies the national title.
Unfortunately, the game will go on as scheduled at NRG Stadium in Houston, and the Pac-12 won’t get the proper send-off that it deserves. But, the good news is that if the national semifinals were any indication, fans will be in for a treat regardless of the location.
