The Denver Broncos announced Russell Wilson will be benched for the remainder of the 2023-24 NFL season.

Benching Wilson is a way for the team to avoid a potential $37 million guarantee if Wilson is injured — even if head coach Sean Payton wants to pretend the move was based on performance.

With his benching, there is now a wide belief that the Broncos will be moving on from Wilson in the offseason and he will play elsewhere in 2024.

But where could the veteran signal-caller land?

The oddsmakers wasted no time looking ahead to where Wilson could play next season and 13 teams are listed on the board — with the top 11 teams in a crowded race ranging from 5/1 to 11/1.

Topping the list is the Minnesota Vikings at 5-to-1. Minnesota starter Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles this season, leading to the team turning to Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullens. If Cousins is not healthy enough to start the season, he would be an interesting option for the men in purple.

The New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, and Las Vegas Raiders are also among the favorites.

When it comes to longshots, the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks are listed. A Wilson-Pete Carroll reunion seems highly unlikely, but crazier things have happened.

Ahead of the 2022 season, the Broncos traded two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant for Wilson, who would sign a five-year, $245 million contract extension with the Broncos.

Wilson never lived up to expectations, and now he will likely spend the twilight of his career with a third NFL team.
