Police are reportedly looking to charge three men who were involved in an altercation at Gillette Stadium in September.

53-year-old Dale Mooney, a longtime New England Patriots fan, died during the altercation after losing consciousness.

The incident occurred on September 17 when the Patriots hosted the Miami Dolphins.

According to TMZ Sports, the Foxborough Police Department has submitted criminal complaints seeking assault and battery and disorderly conduct charges against the three unnamed men.

Mooney never regained consciousness after the altercation despite medical personnel rushing to his side while he was still in the stands. One eye witness says that it appeared a defibrillator was brought to the scene.

Mooney was a season ticket holder of 30 years and was in attendance at the game with his son.

While charges for the three men are being pursued, police officials believe that it was a medical issue — not a traumatic injury — that led to Mooney’s death.

An investigation into his death is ongoing.
