The New England Patriots put together a putrid offensive performance in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints.
Mac Jones and company put a goose egg on the scoreboard in the team’s 42-0 loss.
Plenty of pundits had harsh criticism for the Patriots after the poor outing, but they weren’t the only ones. Enter former President Donald Trump.
Trump was in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire this week and made a stop on the campaign trail to deliver. a speech. During his speech, he couldn’t help but take a shot at the Patriots for their performance.
“Let’s see, what’s a good football team nowadays?” Trump said, via TMZ Sports.

“I used to say New England. I used to say the Patriots. I’d love to be able to say the Patriots. I’d love to be able to say the Patriots. [Belichick’s] a great guy, great coach, but they’re having a little hard time.”
Despite his criticism, Trump continued to give Belichick some praise.
The Patriots are currently 1-4 and in last place in the AFC East.
And it’s only going to get worse.
Up next for the Patriots is a trip to Las Vegas to face the Raiders, before taking on the division rival Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins to finish off the month.
