Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs has issued a response to the hot mic audio of a team reporter trashing the star pass catcher at the post-game press conference following Buffalo’s season-opening loss to the New York Jets.
Bills reporter Maddy Glab issued an apology for the hot mic moment which caught her saying, “There’s no control over Stefon Diggs. Dude’s going to do what he wants to do. He’ll look in my face and say F you. That’s how he treats everybody.”
Diggs, however, says that the comments were “hurtful” and said moments like this are why players don’t want to interact with the media while also apologizing for if he ever came off as unapproachable.
Yikes: A #Bills reporter was talking trash about Stefon Diggs but didn’t realize the mics were still on and caught everything..

“The audio shared was very hurtful. And was insulting to my character and to how I was raised. I’ve always treated people how I want to be treated. I greet everyone with smiles and respect. From the people in our cafe to the people that keep our building clean & in order,” Diggs wrote on Twitter.
“The media or fans may confuse my competitiveness that they witness on the field as who I am as a person. But off the field Id never treat anyone how she described & have never said anything remotely close to that to her.”
We get you all have a job. And I respect it, but please remember I’m a human just like you. And if I ever made you or anyone else feel like you can’t approach me. I apologize ❤️

“Idk why it was said, but this is an example of why people don’t want to deal with the media,” he continued. “It’s hard to fight the preconceived notions people have about you. Regardless of ever having a personal experience with them.

Diggs handled the situation with nothing but class, especially considering he had nothing he needed to apologize for. But that shows the kind of person he really is, regardless of how reporters — even the team’s own reporter — wants to portray him.
Up next for Diggs and the Bills is the team’s home opener against the Las Vegas Raiders as they look to bounce back from the disappointing start to their season. Kickoff on Sunday, September 17, is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
