NFL Fans Get Stuck With Huge Tabs After ‘Free Beer’ Promo Goes Wrong

If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. And some thirsty NFL fans found that out the hard way during the New York Jets‘ Monday Night Football showdown with the division rival Buffalo Bills.

A Wisconsin bar was offering a promo that would cover customers’ tabs if the Jets lost, so when Aaron Rodgers went down with a season-ending Achilles injury on the fourth play of the game they began running up their tabs.

Unfortunately for the people who tried to score some free beer, Josh Allen decided to sh*t the bed with a three-interception performance and he added a fumble for good measure.

Then, Garrett Wilson hauled in an early Catch of the Year candidate for a touchdown to give the Jets the lead.

Buffalo eventually tied the game and forced overtime, but the Jets got the MetLife crowd on their feet thanks to rookie Xavier Gipson who scored a walk-off punt return touchdown.

Those at the Wisconsin bar were not on their feet as they realized they would have to pay up on their tabs after the unlikely Jets victory.

Try explaining that one to the wife.

Next up for the Jets and new QB1 Zach Wilson 2.0 is a trip to Arlington to face the Dallas Cowboys, who delivered a 40-0 shellacking of the New York Giants in Week 1.

Buffalo, meanwhile, will look to rebound in Week 2 when they host the Las Vegas Raiders. They’ll be hoping Josh Allen can actually take care of the ball.
