LeBron James is reportedly interested in returning to international basketball and putting on the Red, White, and Blue next summer.
According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, LeBron is recruiting fellow NBA superstars to join him on Team USA for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
LeBron, a two-time gold medalist, has reportedly spoken to Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, and his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis about joining him on the potential Team USA super team.
Charania adds:
Separately, Phoenix’s Devin Booker, Portland’s Damian Lillard, Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox and Dallas’ Kyrie Irving also have serious interest in committing, league sources said.
With that star-studded roster, Team USA would be the clear gold medal favorite.
This would be exactly what fans have been asking for, and having the aging NBA stars would serve as their “Last Dance” on the Olympic stage.
The news comes following the USA’s disappointing effort at the FIBA World Cup where the team — led by Anthony Edwards and Mikal Bridges — failed to medal after losing to Canada in the bronze medal game.
The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will begin on Friday, July 26, 2024, and run through Sunday, August 11, 2024. Will the NBA superstars make the trip? Let’s all hope they come together to go for gold.
