Fans who have been eagerly waiting for the return of EA Sports College Football received some good news on Wednesday, May 17.
After plenty of anticipation, it has been confirmed that the video game will be returning in the summer of 2024 and will feature actual player names and likenesses.
Players will have the opportunity to opt into the game and allow their name, image, and likeness to be used in exchange for compensation.
BREAKING: FBS football players will be able to be in EA Sports’ new college football game, I’ve learned.
EA Sports & OneTeam have partnered to handle NIL rights for any FBS player who is eligible to be in EA Sports College Football.

ESPN.com reports EA Sports contracted OneTeam Partners to “facilitate collegiate athletes’ names and likenesses” into the game. An exact payment model and structure remain uncertain at this time, but the hope is to be “as inclusive and equitable as possible.”
According to an EA Sports representative, more than 120 FBS schools have committed to being in the game — along with all 10 FBS conferences and the College Football Playoff.
Some major programs like Notre Dame, however, have not yet committed to be in the game.
So while there are still some details to work out, the good news is that EA Sports College Football is just over a year away and you’ll be able to hit the sticks as some of your favorite players in the country.
