Lamar Jackson was slapped with the non-exclusive franchise tag on Tuesday, after he and the Baltimore Ravens were unable to reach an agreement for a long-term contract. Teams can now negotiate with the former NFL MVP, but the Ravens will have an opportunity to match any offer.
If the Ravens decided they do not want to match the offer, they would receive two first-round picks as compensation from Jackson’s new team.
But where could he land?
The market for Jackson has been slow to develop with a number of teams immediately saying they would not pursue the superstar quarterback. The 26-year-old signal-caller has years left in his prime, but there seems to be little interest right out of the gate. However, that hasn’t stopped the oddsmakers from looking ahead at where he could land if he leaves Baltimore.
According to the oddsmakers, the Detroit Lions are the favorite to land Jackson if he and Baltimore decided to part ways. The Lions are listed as +300 favorites, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+450) and Indianapolis Colts (+500).
The biggest longshots listed are the Washington Commanders (+1200), Carolina Panthers (+1200), and San Francisco 49ers (+1600).
