Joe Mixon’s Home Surrounded By Police, Crime Scene Tape After ‘Shots Fired’ Call

The home of Cincinnati Bengals star running back Joe Mixon was surrounded by police and crime scene tape late Monday night after reports of “shots fired.” A juvenile was taken to the hospital, but it is unclear how the juvenile was injured, according to WXIX-FOX 19.

Evidence markers were placed around the scene, with “multiple evidence markers” in Mixon’s yard. Police eventually approached Mixon’s home, banging on the door and identifying themselves before entering the home and observing the scene.

“This is an active investigation. That is all we have to release at this time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Mixon’s role in the incident is unknown, but a reporter said police “were focusing on Mixon’s house.”

Police eventually left the scene around 3:20 a.m. ET and removed the crime scene tape without making an arrest.

Just over a month ago, an arrest warrant was issued for Mixon at the same address for aggravated menacing. According to ESPN, a woman accused Mixon of pointing a gun at her and saying, “you should be popped in the face. I should shoot you, police can get me.” The charges were eventually dropped.

The 26-year-old Mixon has one year remaining on his deal with Cincinnati.
