Happy Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen, we are chugging along through the week with only a few more days until Christmas and then before you know it we will be kicking off a new year. Today we sadly woke up to the news of Steelers legend Franco Harris passing away at the age of 72 — which will add extra emotion to the ceremony being held at Saturday’s game where the Steelers are set to retire Harris’s number and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception. It will be interesting to see how emotion impacts the atmosphere of the game. In the meantime, today’s afternoon schedule is bare with zero bowl games until the 9:00 PM kickoff between South Alabama vs. Western Kentucky in the New Orleans Bowl, but there is plenty of NBA and NHL action — along with college hoops — to get us through the night. And throughout the day, we can enjoy early National Signing Day. While we wait for tonight’s games, let’s take a look at some of the headlines from around the web.

RIP Franco Harris, who gave us one of the best plays in NFL history.

As someone who has spent time living in New York City, I’m always ready for a bacon egg n’ cheese.
