A college student in Georgia died in a horrific accident at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport over the weekend.
According to a report from The Telegraph, 21-year-old Georgia Southern student Sani Aliyu was killed after walking into the propeller of a plane he had rented for a date.
Aliyu exited the Cesna after his date, but he walked towards the front of the plane and was killed “instantly” after being hit in the head by the propeller.
“A single-engine Cessna 172 with four people on board landed without incident at Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport in Statesboro, Ga., around 10:35 p.m. local time Sunday,” a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rep told Complex in a statement. “After the plane taxied to the ramp area, a passenger got out and was struck by the propeller.
“The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide all updates. Neither agency identifies people involved in aircraft accidents.”
