Week 5 of the 2021 college football season is in the books, so the weekly honors are beginning to roll out. For Cincinnati Bearcats punter Mason Fletcher, that meant adding a piece of hardware to his trophy case for a strong effort in a win over Tulsa.

This week, the Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award announced Fletcher has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for the Week 5 games.

Fletcher punted 6 times during the game against Tulsa for a total of 264 yards. His gross average was 44 and his net average was 44.67 yards due to him having only 2 punts returned for -4 yards. Three of his punts ended up inside Tulsa’s 20-yard line and he had a long punt of 45 yards.

The No. 24 Bearcats beat Tulsa, 31-21, and will return to action this weekend at home when they welcome the South Florida Bulls on Saturday, October 8. Kickoff at Nippert Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m. ET.

NOTE: Players awarded the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week are not guaranteed as semifinalists for the award.
