JJ Watt continues to be one of the greatest players in the NFL on and off the field. On Wednesday night, Watt offered to help a fan in desperate need during a family tragedy. A brief Twitter exchange with Watt and the fan continues to show how a simple gesture can go a long way.
Don’t sell your shoes and jersey, we’ll help with the funeral.
I’m sorry for your loss.

Watt was tagged in a post from a fan needing to sell their gear of the future NFL Hall-of-Famer, with the need to pay for a family member’s funeral expenses. Here is the full quote of the Tweet Watt was tagged in:
“I have a pair of @JJWatt womens edition of Reebok shoes size 9 $60. I’ve worn them twice. They are great shoes, im only selling because we are raising money for my grandpas funeral. I also have a Watt womens XL Texans Jersey $30. Anyone interested?”
Watt immediately tweeted back to the fan, “Don’t sell your shoes and jersey, we’ll help with the funeral. I’m sorry for your loss.”
This is just another great story of the selflessness that Watt has shown numerous times over his legendary career. Including his relief fund that raised nearly $40 million for victims of Hurricane Harvey that hit the Houston area in 2017.
