It was only a matter of time, and today it is finally official. The Cleveland Browns have traded Baker Mayfield to the Carolina Panthers. The former number one overall pick is looking ahead to greener pastures with the Panthers and a Week One matchup against his former team. With the Browns still not knowing who the Week One starter will be under center this season, one thing is for sure; it won’t be the Bake Show. The news of the trade sent NFL Twitter into a frenzy. Here are the best Twitter reactions.

We already have Panthers playoff predictions from some in the NFL Twitter-sphere, and I have to say that I agree with Dan O. The last time we saw a healthy Mayfield, the Browns won a playoff game over the Steelers and was one blown call away from playing in the AFC title game. Of course, some fans are already looking ahead to the Week One matchup of the Panthers and Browns, with thoughts on Myles Garrett sending Baker to the turf. Let’s hope it isn’t a Mason Rudolph situation.
Thank You @HOMAGE, you made the perfect “@bakermayfield Tribute Video” for me!! #BakerMania Forever! 😢

It seems as if some Browns fans are sad, and certain Panthers players may not be satisfied with the news. Robby Anderson has shown his displeasure of even the thought of Baker suiting up to be his QB1. Whatever side of the aisle you may stand on, we can all agree that days like this make being on Twitter worth all the other drama we see. God bless NFL Twitter for saving us from the misery of a sports dead period. I’m a Reds fan, so baseball isn’t a thing this season.
