Aaliyah Gayles, a high school basketball star who is committed to play for the USC Trojans women’s basketball team, is expected to make a full recovery after being shot 10 times while leaving a house party in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Gayles’ father Dwight provided an update on Aaliyah on social media after her third surgery.

“God is good all the time and all the time God is good,” he wrote on Twitter. “Can’t answer everyone at one time so I come here to let everyone know that 3rd surgery went very well and we expect a full recovery thank you everyone for your support.”

The family has launched a GoFundMe for her rising medical bills. According to theΒ Las Vegas Review-Journal, Gayles was one of four victims struck in the gunfire.

The 18-year-old Gayles is the No. 8-ranked player in the 2022 recruiting class and committed to USC last August.

Gayles was a standout at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas and helped lead her team to the Class 5A state tournament while earning McDonald’s All-American honors. During her senior campaign, Gayles averaged 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.3 assists per game.
