LeBron James‘ son could play a huge part in where the NBA superstar lands next.

According to MaximBet’s Chris Sheridan, LeBron is reportedly willing to leave the Los Angeles Lakers in order to play alongside Bronny James when he makes it to the NBA.

Bronny is currently a junior at Sierra Canyon School.

“It makes sense on many levels to assume that LeBron will spend the remainder of this season and all of next season with the Lakers so that he can be close to his son all the way through high school,” Sheridan wrote.

“But after June of 2023 has come and gone (and James’ current contract with the Lakers will have expired), there could be a new destination on James’ landscape … provided he has not already switched teams prior to that in order to increase his chances of winning another title.”

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst added, “LeBron likes L.A., he likes raising his family in L.A., and his post-career businesses are in L.A.. But he’s made it very clear that he wants to play with his son. If that situation is available outside L.A., he’ll pursue it.”

LeBron is currently 37 years old, so by the time Bronny would make it to the NBA the elder James would be pushing 40. Luckily for LeBron, he is still playing at a high level.

This season, despite dealing with injuries, LeBron is averaging 29.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

If he can continue that level of production, he would have plenty of suitors when free agency comes. And let’s be honest: it would be incredible to see a father and son play together in the NBA.
