The NFL has a taunting problem.

No, the players showing a little flair and celebrating big plays isn’t the issue, but the league’s emphasis on having referees throw flags for taunting was on full display during Week 2 of the regular season.

There were a number of embarrassing calls throughout Sunday’s action across the country, and a supercut of the calls is now going viral.

Ari Meirov of Pro Football Focus shared the video on Twitter that really highlights how bad the problem is.

We can all agree that this has to stop.

While the focus on calling taunting early in the season is annoying for the fans and an embarrassment for the league, later in the season it could be a true disaster if one of these absurd calls is to impact a playoff game.

So, Roger Goodell, listen to the fans. Listen to everyone who is watching. Taunting is fine. The players will get over it. And the flags need to stop coming.
