Rachel Nichols will no longer be involved in ESPN’s coverage of the NBA.

On Wednesday, John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reported that ESPN has removed Nichols from all of the network’s NBA programming. In addition, Nichols’ weekday afternoon show The Jump will be canceled.

ESPN will be launching a new afternoon NBA show leading up to the 2021-22 season, but no details about the show’s format or host have been announced.

Despite the move, Nichols remains under contract with ESPN.

Nichols was removed from her duties at the 2021 NBA Finals earlier this year and replaced by Malika Andrews. The decision came after disparaging comments made by Nichols about then-ESPN colleague Maria Taylor were leaked. Taylor has since left ESPN for NBC.
