Ernie Johnson’s inspirational speech to the Alabama football program is going viral.
In the speech, the NBA on TNT co-host discussed a trip to Europe where he and his wife adopted a special needs son from an orphanage in Romania where kids were “being warehoused.”
Johnson recalled the nurse telling him that the “boy was no good” and that he should not take him, but Johnson and his wife adopted him anyway.
His son, Michael, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy upon returning to the United States and that’s when he began making a positive impact on others. Michael then became an inspiration to his high school basketball team because of his effort and love for others.
It is an incredible speech and story that has already been viewed over two million times.
