Lonzo Ball secured the bag.
Shortly after the NBA free agency period opened, it was reported that the former New Orleans Pelicans guard signed a lucrative deal with the Chicago Bulls. Per reports, Ball’s deal with Chicago was a four-year contract worth $85 million.
Naturally, Twitter had plenty to say.
And when you add in the news that LiAngelo Ball is set to play in the Summer League for the Charlotte Hornets, where younger brother and reigning Rookie of the Year LaMelo plays, the jokes came flying.
Of course, LaVar Ball was the focal point — especially with two sons playing for the team owned by Michael Jordan and one signing with a team that Jordan built — so you know what happened next.
Some of the top reactions from social media can be seen below.
Lavar ball has his oldest son lonzo ball making 80 million from the bulls while his youngest son lamelo just won rookie of the year playing for the team owned by michael Jordan himself . Can’t make this stuff up pic.twitter.com/V81qdl9n4v

I retract every insult I've said about Lonzo and the Ball family. Lavar Ball is a phenomenal father and astute businessman. His shoes are fire. We should all strive to be like the Ball family. See more on their hit show "Ball in the family" https://t.co/0S7TqXjSa1

All the slander LaVar Ball got…. now has one son making $85 million for the team Jordan built, and the other son winning rookie of the year on the team Jordan owns.

LaVar is going to be interviewed and watch him say they'll have to replace the Michael Jordan statue with one of Lonzo. Just watch.

Crazy, I pitched this to LaVar three years ago during the JBA League from a concept one of the local outlets came up with. Now Lonzo's heading to the United Center to play in the house Michael Jordan built while LaMelo is in Charlotte, the team Jordan owns. Wild. @Lavarbigballer pic.twitter.com/nFeBRuzmpJ
