There has been plenty of speculation and rumors that Damian Lillard could be ready to get out of Portland. Some even suggest the Trail Blazers star could request a trade from the team.
Predictably, Twitter detectives went searching for any hints about what Lillard’s next move could be and they dug up an interesting note.
Lillard was previously asked by a fan on social media who he would like to play for if he ever had the opportunity to play for another NBA team. Lillard went on to name two teams: the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers.
That tweet was sent out four years ago, and both teams are now among the best in the Western Conference.
If blazers said they didn't want me… Utah Jazz or Lakers https://t.co/jep3V9qRsS

The Blazers finalized a deal over the weekend with former NBA star Chauncey Billups to become the franchise’s next head coach. That apparently hasn’t been sitting well with Lillard after he learned about prior sexual assault allegations against Billups.
Those allegations reportedly could push Lillard “out the door,” according to Yahoo! Sports.
It would certainly be interesting to see where one of the league’s biggest superstars could land if he left Portland, but Utah and Los Angeles would be teams to watch out for because of his preference.
And if there is another team to watch, the New York Post says the Knicks are “monitoring Lillard’s situation to see whether he will ask for a trade.”
