A few weeks ago, Antonio Brown’s agent claimed the veteran wide receiver had re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, according to head coach Bruce Arians, that is not the case.

Brown is currently dealing with a knee injury that required surgery, according to Pro Football Talk.

As a result, he has to pass a physical before he can finalize a deal.

“He has to pass the physical,” Arians said. “Hopefully we’ll have a scope on Tuesday, he’s getting his knee cleaned out, and everything will work out fine. It’s just a matter of a physical.

“We wanted AB back. He was a model citizen the whole time he’s been here. We wanted him back and he’s never had surgery in his life. It’s just a matter of [getting a] physical done. I wanted him back the whole time.”

There is no timetable for when Brown could pass a physical, but it is clear there is still some progress that needs to be made.

Whether Brown ultimately passes a physical and returns to the team remains to be seen.
