Charles Barkley is one of the most entertaining personalities on television. The NBA legend makes NBA on TNT studio shows watchable and always shares his raw, unfiltered opinions with viewers.
But how could that work with other sports?
According to Barkley, there was an opportunity for us all to find out but he decided to pass.
Barkley claims he was offered a television gig with Monday Night Football, but he ultimately passed because he didn’t want to look like an idiot talking about a sport he wasn’t knowledgable about.
“I only comment on basketball. Like they offered me Monday Night Football,” Barkley said during an appearance on the Jim Brockmire Podcast.
“I says, ‘I like football, but I ainβt going to be one of these jackasses to get on TV and act like he know about football.'”

Oh, what could have been.
And while Barkley may not be interested in joining the Monday Night Football studio crew, ESPN would be smart to continue trying to add him to their always-growing list of talent.
We all know there is an open spot now that Paul Pierce was fired.
