Britt Reid, a former Kansas City Chiefs assistant and son of head coach Andy Reid, has been hit with a felony DWI charge and faces significant jail time if convicted.

According to TMZ Sports, Reid is facing up to seven years behind bars for his role in a three-car crash on February 4 that left a five-year-old girl in a coma with serious injuries.

The 35-year-old Reid admitted to taking Adderall prior to the crash and had his blood alcohol content recorded at .113. The state’s legal limit is .08.

Reid served as outside linebackers coach and the accident took place three days before the Chiefs played in Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The girl who was injured, Ariel Young, remains in the hospital with a brain injury and “still has a long road to recovery.”

The good news, however, is that she has shown signs of improvement.

We continue to wish Ariel a full recovery.
