Aaron Beasley, a linebacker on the Tennessee Vols football team, is under investigation for allegedly abusing and badly injuring another UT student’s 6-month-old kitten.
According to TMZ Sports, the animal had to be taken to the emergency room for a variety of severe medical issues including brain damage.
The kitten’s owner set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the cost of her pet’s medical care while detailing the injuries.
The details are horrifying.
“I came home this morning to find my 6-month-old kitten under a dresser hiding and not letting anyone touch him,” the GoFundMe reads. “When I picked him up he screamed and couldn’t walk, come to find out my roommates’ boyfriend had hit and kicked him, locked him in the toilet bowl, and held him upside down by his tail.“We rushed Nugget to the emergency room and he has brain damage and will now have a hard time walking, he has a bleeding hemorrhage on his kidney caused by internal bleeding from being kicked, clots in his bladder, and he is currently in an oxygen tank.”At the time of this writing, the fundraiser has received over $4,593.The Knoxville Police Department confirmed to local news outlet WBIR that it is investigating the situation.
