The New York Jets had the opportunity to upset the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, but a late-game collapse allowed New England to kick a game-winning field goal as time expired.

While it would normally be disappointing to remain winless, it is exactly what the Jets need in their quest to “Tank for Trevor” — earn the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to take Clemson star Trevor Lawrence.

In order to lose, the Jets had a handful of wild errors that had the internet laughing.

In one case, the Jets sent 12 men onto the field for a field goal attempt by the Pats. That gave Cam Newton and company a new set of downs in a 10-point game.

That gave New England all of the momentum they needed to close the lead before ultimately earning the win as time expired.

The Jets now sit at 0-9 on the season and continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL.
