Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffery congratulated his girlfriend Olivia Culpo over Instagram for making the cover of the 2020 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
“When your gf is on the cover of @si_swimsuit, you do a victory lap on a paddle board. A constant inspiration to everyone who knows you!” said McCaffery about Culpo in a July 13 Instagram post after the news was announced.
Culpo is a former Miss Rhode Island USA and Miss USA who has since become an influencer, actress, and model. She can now add Sports Illustrated Cover Model to her impressive resume.
Culpo joins Kate Bock, the girlfriend of Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love, and Jasmine Sanders on the sizzling 2020 cover. Sports Illustrated is producing four covers for the issue, one with the three models and one of each cover model individually. The photos of the trio were shot in Bali, Indonesia in November of 2019. Culpo, Bock, and Sanders are pictured on the cover standing together in the ocean sporting black swimsuits.
Love congratulated Bock as well in a July 13 Instagram post saying, “Katie, I know how much this one means to you. @mj_day and her team have become family over the years and you have poured so much energy and support into their diverse and inclusive vision. This is a timeless cover. It could not be a better representation of the beautiful woman you are and continue to be. I’m just so happy for you.”
“I thank you most of all for being such a great person. I hope more and more people get to know just how special you are. CONGRATULATIONS again and again on not 1, but 2 @si_swimsuit covers!!!”
Bock finally landed her first cover after appearing in every SI Swimsuit issue since 2013. Culpo has appeared in the issue since 2018 while Sanders’ rookie year was with the 2019 swimsuit issue.
