Pennsylvania Man Arrested For Scamming NFL Player Via Twitter

Pennsylvania man Michael Daily was arrested for scamming NFL player on Twitter out of a jersey : via Pennsylvania State Police

Pennsylvania Man Michael Daily was arrested recently after cops found an (alleged) scam that Daily had run on an NFL player via Twitter to get game jerseys for his “terminally ill cousin.” The weird part about this scam, and something I want to hear more about, is that Daily was allegedly using a verified Twitter account belonging to an MLB pitcher. It’s unclear how Daily got his hands on the verified account.

From WYOU:

Police say 24-year-old Michael Daily contacted the NFL player was contacted using a verified Twitter account of an “MLB Pitcher”. The pair exchanged text messages and the “MLB Pitcher” requested game jerseys for his terminally ill cousin, whose dying wish was to receive his jersey.

Two NFL game worn jerseys were then mailed to the “MLB Pitcher” to a residence in Jackson Township.

On February 27, state police executed a search warrant at the home in Jackson Township. Inside, they found various pieces of sports memorabilia including NFL jerseys, cleats, MLB baseballs, baseball cards, WWE championship belts and various items signed by professional athletes.

Remember back in January when a member of the media asked Kyle Rudolph for game-used gloves that would be used to raise money for charity and they ended up on eBay? I guess it’s the year of the memorabilia scams because here we are again with this Daily guy doing big things — allegedly. Dirt bags being dirt bags, if found guilty in Daily’s case.
