Long jumper Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk was at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio, but she failed to get past the qualifying round and missed the finals. Now it’s 2020 and Maryna figures to be in Tokyo representing her country and Nike, her main sponsor. That’s right, Maryna is Nike property so that tells you a couple things — she’s a talented long jumper and she is good at social media. You don’t have 200k-plus Instagram followers and a Nike sponsorship and not have a handle on how to content in 2020.
Add it all up and it means Maryna should have a big year, especially after finishing 2nd at the World Championships in 2019. This is just the beginning of a huge year around here when it comes to the Olympic Games. Little known fact — the Summer Olympics are one of my favorite events because we get like an entire month of content in August when NFL teams are busy going through the motions of training camp. The Olympics are huge for pageviews and Maryna figures to be right in the middle of it.
Some of you might think, ‘Hey BC, you already jumped on some long jumper’s bandwagon like two years ago.’ That would be TRIPLE JUMPER Tay Clark. Different event. We won’t rest until you guys know all the key athletes for the Tokyo Games.
Know a possible Olympic athlete we need to feature before all the other sites jump on board?
