He’s back…Jason Witten is taking a year off from broadcasting work on Monday Night Football to go back to the Dallas Cowboys for one more season — at least — to make one more playoff run instead of working in a MNF booth that’s pretty much a dead end for broadcasters these days. You know what the BDs are worried about here? Witten getting more CTE. That’s right, the BDs are concerned this is a bad move.
Witten, who had 69 career touchdowns — including one in the playoffs, is on record saying he’s fine with the risks associated with football. Of course that was way back in 2017 before he went into broadcasting and people thought he was already suffering from CTE.
The BDs just don’t want people claiming that this puts the Cowboys over the top in the East. You still have the Eagles, the Redskins are without a quarterback and the Giants are still rolling the dice with Eli so it’s reasonable to think that the Cowboys can win a division and make a run. It won’t be like Witten brings playoff experience…he’s played in one playoff game.
