Drunk Man Claiming To Be 'Texas Champion' Barges Into House Hours After Big 12 Title Game

You know how I know the Big12 title game had people shook? Because you had a good ol’ boy named Matthew Davis Crabtree was arrested Saturday night after trying to break into an Oklahoma City house and yelling “I’m a Texas champion” to the residents.
From NewsOK:

About 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 1140 block of NW 49, where a man trying to force his way through the front door of a home. At the scene, officers made contact with Matthew Davis Crabtree. Police said he was “extremely intoxicated,” and told officers he had “definitely had too much” to drink, according to a police report.

The homeowner said Crabtree opened the front door and was screaming “I’m a Texas champion,” as he tried to get inside.

Police reported Crabtree had an Oklahoma City address, but his phone number was from a Texas area code.

I did my research and can’t find any clear evidence that Matt is a big Texas fan, we’ll just have to assume it.
I watched an Oklahoma City news story on this “Texas Champion” incident and it’s hilarious to hear the local cop kinda just blow all of this off as some drunken moment in Matt’s life that shouldn’t cause him much concern. The good news here for Matt is that he wasn’t blasted in the chest by the homeowner. That’s great news and it seems as if the homeowner is laughing about all this too.
There is a happy ending to a story this week and that’s a nice change of pace.
