We regret to inform you all that Atlanta Braves announcer Joe Simpson is at it again. The old fart who went viral a week ago for bitching and moaning about the Dodgers wearing shorts and tees during batting practice annoyed some fans Tuesday by questioning if Nationals stud rookie Juan Soto is really a teenager.
“If he’s 19, he has certainly got his man growth,” Joe stated during the seventh inning of Game 1 between the Braves and Nats.

An old, white homer acting ignorant in the booth really shouldn’t ruffle any feathers — what do you expect????? — but, of course, baseball Twitter was pissed:
Age fraud hasn’t been a thing in Latin America in nearly a decade. But then again Joe Simpson is stuck in the past, so it’s not a surprise that he proffers this sort of garbage. Ignore it.
Juan Soto is 19. Period. Full stop. And he’s doing things the game never has seen before. https://t.co/V5iWMkkleF

The 19-year-old phenom is enjoying a monster rookie season with the Nats, slashing a ridiculous .310/.424/.556 with 13 home runs in 66 games. Soto played in the minors for just two seasons before getting called up (for good) in May.
Juan Soto (@Nationals) has reached base 5 times today.
At 19 years, 286 days old, he's the youngest player to reach base safely 5+ times in a game since Robin Yount on May 3, 1975 (at age 19 years, 229 days).
