If you thought ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski had gone into hibernation this month, think again. Woj dropped a minor bomb Sunday as he reported that the Clippers are close to trading Sam (and Olivia) Dekker to the Cavaliers.
Cleveland is finalizing a trade to acquire Los Angeles Clippers forward Sam Dekker, league sources tell ESPN.

The trade makes sense on both sides. The Clippers still have way too many players on their team (17 pre-trade) and needed to rid themselves of two bodies, while the Cavs lost this basketball player named LeBron James over the offseason. Some might say he was pretty good, so the Cavs could use additional players to soak up minutes at the forward position.
Sides are still working through parameters, but it’s essentially Clippers clearing a roster spot and a chance for Dekker to get a better opportunity for minutes with Cavs. https://t.co/aIYRLW2rAo

Dekker, who was part of the Chris Paul trade last offseason, bombed in his lone season with the Clippers, averaging four points and two rebounds while shooting 16 percent from three-point range. He’ll compete for PT against the likes of Kyle Korver, Cedi Osman, and David Nwaba… should be a fun season in Cleveland.
