Here’s The Mysterious Hand Injury Tom Brady Suffered Before the AFC Championship Game

Was the hand injury Tom Brady suffered a couple of days before the AFC Championship game against the Jaguars actually legit or just another case of classic Patriots misdirection? Almost two months after Glovegate, our questions have been answered — it was pretty damn serious.

The sixth episode of Brady’s Facebook documentary “Tom Vs. Time” touched on the injury and included a still photo of the gash No. 12 suffered in practice.

In addition to the stitches he received, Tom also did some acupuncture to rehab the wound:

I’m looking down on my thumb as it’s split open and I’m thinking, “I really don’t know what happened to my thumb. But I know it doesn’t feel good and I have a real hard time believing I’m gonna be able to go out and play well against the No. 1-ranked defense in the league in four days.”

Obviously the hand drama did nothing to deter Brady’s on-field performance as he threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns against the Jags. He went on to light up the Eagles for 505 yards in a tough loss at Super Bowl LII.

Sidenote: Everything you need to see on Tom’s hand begins around the three-minute mark in the video below. Keep an ear our for Stephen A. Smith being wrong. Again.
