No joke. That photo above is the first time I’ve seen Danilo Gallinari wearing a Clippers jersey in like a month. And apparently it’s going to be some time before he dons anything but a suit because the Clips’ $65-million offseason splash is reportedly out six weeks with a torn up ass — or technically speaking, a glute tear.
In very Clippers fashion, it’s not your ordinary injury as Gallo has seen multiple doctors because of its rare variety (via the LA Times):
“If it’s not the same [injury], its a little worse,” Gallinari said. “I’ve seen different doctors and it’s a weird injury. Even the doctors, they saw a couple of cases, but they didn’t see a lot of cases like this kind of injury, whatever it is. It could be 10% worse, 20% worse or the same. But it’s still a muscle tear.”
It’s been mentioned in a prior post, but the Clippers are currently playing games without Gallo, Blake Griffin, Patrick Beverley, Wes Johnson, and up until recently, Milos Teodosic. The good news? Olivia Harlan and Olivia Munn are still hitting up games to see Sam Dekker and the scrappy Clips somehow compete in games:
