Those of you who’ve been around here for the last few years know that Jesse Jane, a friend of BC and superstar with acting credits in films such as Highway to Havasu, My Sister’s Husband, Love, Jesse, Top Guns and Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge, is a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan who has a long history of sharing her love for that team. This isn’t just some random performer who likes a team. The Sooners are life & death for Jesse.
That’s why she reacted like she did to news today that Baker Mayfield, who grabbed his dick and mouthed a message to the Kansas sideline on Saturday, will not start Saturday against West Virginia for the his actions.

There’s even more punishment…he’ll also lose his captain duties for Saturday’s game. This is probably for the best after the little kids stiffed him in the handshake line at the 50 that pretty much set all of this in motion in Lawrence.
Rookie head coach Lincoln Riley had to do something to keep the national media happy. So this is what he came up with. From the Oklahoman:

“We all know what provoked it but it’s something that cannot happen and stand by,” Riley said, calling the decision not to start Mayfield “difficult.”
Riley said Mayfield would play against West Virginia but did not specify how long he would sit out.
“This program has very, very high standards,” Riley said. “This university has very, very high standards. When they’re not met, there’s got to be consequences.”

In other words, this should calm everything down. The only problem is that Jesse Jane is now furious.

Baker, probably feeling heat to make things good before going to the Heisman ceremony, dropped this apology on Saturday:
