Attention whore LaVar Ball has discovered that his key to staying in the spotlight is to simply continue spilling batshit hot takes to the media, so it’s best to not take his opinions so seriously. It’s going to be tough in the coming years with Lonzo (and eventually LaMelo), but trust me, laughing at his nonsense is the way to avoid becoming an even angrier sports fan.
Seriously, there are people absolutely losing their minds today over LaVar telling the USA Today’s Josh Peter that he would’ve “killed” Michael Jordan in one-on-one:
“Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,’’ said Ball, the 49-year-old basketball dad who is 6-6 and 270 pounds and has a mouth to match his size.
“I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left,” Ball said. “He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can’t go around me. He’s not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim.”
Crazy? Sure. But this is also the guy who believes Lonzo is already better than Steph Curry.
Journalists are going to keep dropping bait for LaVar, and he’s going to keep biting with his Trump-esque exposure over anything philosophy.
